The Magnetic Magic of Red
A sunny June weekend came alive at noon as 97 women in red dresses of all hues brought the “Heart of the World” flashmob to the City Garden. From there, they marched in a vibrant parade through the historic center of Omsk — turning ordinary streets into a celebration of color, energy, and good spirits.
This inspiring initiative is the brainchild of Eleonora Shipulina, President of the Russian Women’s Association. For eight years, her project has kindled joy in the hearts of women from dozens of cities both in Russia and overseas.
City Garden: Preparations

Already an hour before the event, red becomes the dominant color of the City Garden

Dozens of women and girls gather to share the energy of beauty with the world

Age sets no limits on inner lightness

Flash mob co-organizer Oksana Taran explains the concept to TV journalists

Photo shoots are happening everywhere

The best project photographers even have lines waiting for them!

You can be the only one in the frame…

…or invite a friend to join

You might even manage to strike a mood — a dreamy, lyrical one, for instance

The heat is no obstacle to the plan, though some photos turn out better in the shade

Scarlet and emerald bring out the best in each other — and in the lovely lady, too

By the way, many bought stunning dresses especially for this day!

A well-kept urban space offers new great angles

Hands shaped into hearts — the most popular gesture for the next three hours

Flashmob

Everything is ready for the “Heart of the World” flashmob!

This year, the event takes place not only in Russia but also in India and China

The movements have been rehearsed in advance, so they look rhythmic and expressive

In the front rows — Oksana Taran from Omsk, whom we already know

Next to her is Oksana Pinchuk from Novosibirsk, the lead organizer of the project in Omsk

The dance is performed to a song written especially for ladies in red dresses

The participants’ energy charges the city: the movement grows stronger every year

They all radiate confidence and the power of female unity

Love for oneself and for the world is one of the key meanings of the event and its anthem

In a few minutes, the choreography concludes with a circle dance

Balloons rise into the sky

This is the symbolic finale of the first part of the program

The applause is, of course, for themselves — so stylish and bright

There’s a little time for emotional selfies

And if the melody keeps playing inside you, no sound is needed: the dance goes on!
Parade

The next stage is the parade along the city’s central streets

The women and girls enthusiastically greet passersby

Even the silhouette on the traffic light seems to be joining the event :)

It’s worth noting here that pedestrian traffic rules are strictly observed

But that doesn’t stop them from sharing genuine smiles with the press and everyone around

According to the organizers, the project helps women feel free to be irresistible

Straighten your back, put on lipstick, wear red — such simple actions…

…yet they often mark the start of big inner changes

And let not just loved ones, but the entire capital of the Irtysh region know about it!

The Yubileyny Bridge is behind them — and despite the heat, their good mood stays strong

An air kiss — a warm greeting to Omsk and to everyone with a camera ready

This burst of joy warms both the one who sends it and the one who receives it

The first group photo on the route is taken on the steps of the Serafimo‑Alekseevskaya Chapel

Next on the plan is Partizanskaya Street

Interaction with the city dwellers never stops, not even for a second

Each lady in red is expected to exceed her daily quota of greetings within an hour :)

Drivers respond with short honks and admiring smiles

Meanwhile, the ladies in blue dresses aren’t part of our column!

Muzeynaya Street is simply made for all kinds of walks — and the flashmob is no exception

Heart gestures are back in action

The parade keeps moving to the rhythm of the city

It’s worth recalling that the project creates a space where being noticed is natural

It lets a woman rediscover herself…

…and try on the role of a queen for her king
Lyubinsky Avenue

Lyubinsky Avenue is the perfect setting to form the “Heart of the World” once again

Once more, synchronized movements weave the participants into a single living pattern

In such moments, countless individual stories merge into one big shared story

A circle dance brings this scarlet group performance to a close…

…but the exchange of energy doesn’t stop

If there’s a reason to pause, it’s only for the applause!

Five minutes later, the ladies breathe life into the street’s majestic architectural ensemble

The historic center’s layout makes a great overhead shot possible

All summer long, the roadway is given over to pedestrians on weekends — and they couldn’t be happier

The next photo stop is the former shop of merchant Maria Shanina

A patron and philanthropist, Maria Shanina would surely have supported the flashmob…

…or even become a co-organizer, had she happened to live in the 21st century!

The parade has been going for an hour now, and the energy is still going strong

For the third time, the project’s anthem plays — about the mission of the fairer half of humanity

Even the lower part of Lyubinsky Avenue is learning to read the key message in sign language

A woman is like the sun — but her light doesn’t blind, it warms, and she doesn’t hide her glow

Being beautiful, building a family, making others happier — not a duty, but a gift

The parade is each woman’s way of telling the world: “I’m here, I’m bright, I’m real!”

Via the crosswalk, the procession returns to the Yubileyny Bridge

The admiration of men is the most sincere compliment to the participants

Scarlet draws the eye and sparks a response with a sense of belonging

Embraces speak louder than anything of the unifying power of collective action

Stepping out in red was absolutely worth it, if only to find…

…not just new acquaintances for a day, but people you can truly be yourself around

Of course, these are the moments you want to hold on to

The support of like-minded women helps keep that inner light alive…

…to keep living boldly, creating freely, and loving truly

The final stop on the route is the steps of the Local History Museum

We catch a curious glance from the side: could she be wearing red next year?

And so, the life-affirming walk through the historic center comes to a close
City Garden: Finale

Step by step, the women of Omsk created their own celebration — without grand words, but with great feeling

The Siberian air warmed up to +30°C, so bringing a fan was a very sensible idea

Gathering the smiles of fellow participants and passersby, each woman wove them into her own mosaic of happiness

A farewell air kiss is sent off

There’s a rare chance to take a photo with the flowers that will soon be handed out to the participants

So another city event, created by the city’s own women, came to an end

After hundreds of steps across the scorching asphalt — finally free from heels!

Two kilometers in high heels definitely make themselves felt

You can’t hide the fatigue, but you can’t contain the joy either: it was clearly a day well spent

No one is leaving just yet: a prize draw by the project’s partners is still ahead

Now is the perfect time to talk about the parade and what it meant to you

You can also share your impressions with friends online

Photo shoots continue in the City Garden’s most striking spots

Dancing spontaneously breaks out again — turns out, not everyone feels the fatigue

The final stage is about to be called for, but for now, the lawn is all ours!

The organizers call on everyone to stand together once more for the lottery

Dozens of participants receive certificates for spa visits and other experiences

Every single lady also gets a scarlet rose

And here comes the big moment — the main prize finds its lucky winner!

White and red look simply perfect together

The elegant fur coat is a lovely reminder of the summer event to carry through the long winter

Today, these proactive women of Omsk spoke in unison — and the city heard them

All that’s left is to send a video greeting to the project’s creator, Eleonora Shipulina…

…and then we can slowly head home, already wondering what might surprise everyone in 2027!
