Victory Tram: Songs to the Clatter of the Wheels
From May 7 to 9, Omsk joins the All‑Russian “Victory Tram” campaign. For three days, creative teams from the city’s cultural centers perform wartime songs inside the car of tram route 4, which runs across the entire city.
At the Terminus
The decorated tram sets off on its first musical run from Kotelnikova Street

Passengers are given brochures with the lyrics and invited to sing along
With less than a meter between the “stage” and the audience, the right connection is easy to make
Older passengers join in with almost every song performed by the “Rus” choir
The most popular songs are familiar even to the younger generation
The atmosphere is extraordinary: people sing even while standing, even during the morning rush hour
A ride on this tram is the best impression of the pre‑holiday days
It’s very important to once again feel a sense of belonging to a nation with a great history
You don’t have to sing, but no one can stay indifferent or fail to listen
Between songs, the girls from the theatre studio read poignant poems about the war
Only in the final kilometers, in the Amursky settlement, does the car become less crowded
The run lasts 66 minutes, and the program never stops during that time
A veteran who happened to board the Victory Tram sincerely thanks the performers

Just five minutes of rest at the terminus — and it’s time to head back!
Second Run
The car heading toward the city center fills up very quickly
The new audience gives the artists a fresh burst of energy
The program includes some rarely performed songs that are safer to sing from sheet music
With the returning‑trip passengers, it all happens again: they’re pleasantly surprised and sing along
Many of the pieces are tragic, but the “Rus” choir skillfully conveys all the necessary emotions
The performers’ state is fully transmitted to the audience
Closer to the terminus, the concert ends with a collective karaoke of well‑known and beloved songs
Everyone sings: passengers, the choir, and even the actors from the “Full House” Theatre
Many will take the melodies of this ride home and be sure to share them with their families
