Infinity of Russian Culture
The “Boundaries” performance was the highlight of the “Academy of Russian Culture” forum, uniting the keepers of tradition and those eager to connect with their ancestors’ heritage.
On the Concert Hall stage, the organizers revealed the rich diversity of folk culture — spiritual and material alike — through songs, rituals, and costumes that represent the unique traditions of different regions. Together, they painted a picture of a vast cultural world where the sense of infinity truly comes alive.
Traditional Clothing
In the foyer, visitors are greeted by an exhibition of festive outfits

Ritual Songs

Costumes from Romanovo Village
The next segment features costumes from Romanovo village (Lipetsk Region)
The antique clothing is collected and restored by Elena Zinina, a master craftswoman from Lipetsk
Details of the cut and embroidery are projected onto a large screen
Lipetsk textiles stand out from the typical image of a Russian costume
That’s due to the cut, the very bright colors, and the unusual finishing techniques
As Lipetsk peasants followed the call of the free land to Siberia, they also settled in our region
Dialogue with Tradition
The “Byzantium” number is performed to music by the “Protosound” project
On the aerial silks — Omsk aerial gymnast Sofya Vikulova
Youth, beauty, and grace have completely captivated the audience
Artists from the “Irtysh Sunrise” ballroom dance ensemble take part in the fashion show
These are modern outfits with the traditional spirit of the Varvara Zenina brand
It’s easy to trace the continuity of style if you recall the patterns from the exhibition

Costumes and Songs of the Doukhobors
Now comes a new segment showcasing an ethnographic collection of costumes
This is how the Tula Doukhobors dressed in the old days
In the 1990s, they began returning to Russia after 150 years of exile

But the choir closes the program with a deeply moving rendition of the prayer “Our Father”
And it feels as though the souls of the ancestors return from the depths of time, rejoicing for those living today
Vibrant Finale
In the finale, all the performers and authors of the performance take the stage
The only one in modern attire is Varvara Zenina, the director of “Boundaries”
Now the singing is completely improvisational — because at this moment, not singing is simply not an option
There’s a rush to take dozens of photos to remember the moment
Everyone wants to stay in character and share this sense of unity with tradition with everyone around
In truth, there are no boundaries. The Russian world exists wherever Russian culture is honored and cherished
