Cossack Culture Festival in Generalovka

Generalovka (Omsk Region)
The picturesque meadow has everything needed for a beautiful celebration
After the opening, the organizers invite visitors to explore the festival’s colorful locations
The “Cossack Delivery” fair is already welcoming guests: craftsmen represent three districts of the region
Fires are burning for the “Odessky‑Style Fish Soup” gastronomic contest
Eleven teams are cooking fish soup using their own recipes
To judge doneness, the soup absolutely needs to be tasted…
…and often one expert opinion isn’t enough
One of the friendliest teams represents neighboring Gannovka village
They genuinely want to feed everyone who passes by their contest station
Those who’ve had enough of crafts will be welcomed by Tanyusha and Valyusha in traditional costumes
Their stylized “wooden house” feels like a time machine taking you a century back
…or carrying water with a yoke!
The exhibits are chosen with respect for history and attention to detail
Mini‑tours are given around the period interior
And, of course, this is a great spot for stunning photos
Right after the photo session, it’s time to hurry to the stage!
The ensemble, in turn, charges everyone with good spirits for the rest of the day
Veteran performers on stage are followed by talented youth
By this point, the audience is hard to surprise, but a humorous love song does the trick
What you see, you naturally want to capture and share with friends
Folk choreography looks wonderful outside the stage setting
Both young schoolchildren and teenagers eagerly join the game
Come, little fish, big and small!
Adults watch and cheer them on
Still, fortune favors the persistent and the diligent
Each contestant is assigned a numbered jar
However, an exact count of all caught fish is needed for the record
And the luckiest fishermen get prizes popular among young people
…and thank the Odessky District for a joyful folk festival
All that’s left is to take memorable photos…
